THE TROOP MEETING: PART ONE – OPENING ACTIVITY
“This time can also be used to introduce new Scouts to the troop and help them feel welcome from the beginning. The preopening activity begins about 15 minutes before the meeting starts, and is facilitated by the senior patrol leader and the assistant senior patrol leader. CAN BE FACILITATED BY THE SENIOR PATROL LEADER OR ANOTHER LEADER THEY ASSIGN.”
The preopening is not necessarily facilitated by the SPL and ASPL. The photo below illustrates a friendly and active gathering period activity.
